Multi-Ore Block

Minecraft is a true anomaly. It is a game that combines my two favorite things; blocks and endless possibilities!

The vibrancy and designs of some of the blocks in the game are simply iconic, for instance the ore block.

One day, I thought it would be fun to incorporate lighting in a brick-built version of an ore block.

So I combined three different ores and fused it into one cube!

This model contains Redstone, Gold, and Diamond. While this block doesn’t exist in the game, mining this would make you real rich!

It was quite a challenge to figure out how to fit sixteen pixels within a perfect cube. Lego bricks aren’t perfect cubes, so I had to stagger the pieces a little bit to give it that illusion.

In retrospect, I wish I didn’t add the obsidian base which houses the light.

I would love to revisit this again and add two more ores to the last two sides!
